Chad Schumacher

'Chad Richard Schumacher, 44, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on January 14 at St. Josephs Hospital. Born on October 22, 1980 at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, NJ, Chad is survived by his devoted mother Cheryl Schumacher and his beloved dog, Sparkles; his Aunt Nancy and cousins Michael and Matthew La Corte, plus aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Schumacher, who passed in 2023, as well as his grandparents. Chad was happily employed at Restaurant Depot in Secaucus, where he took immense pride in his work, was known for his strong work ethic, and was loved by his colleagues. He was also a participant in the Special Olympics, playing basketball and softball. He loved animals (especially dogs), buying lottery tickets, attending minor league baseball games, casino trips, and the Philadelphia Phillies. He was fiercely loyal, protective, and loving and he was especially devoted to his dog, Sparkles.
