Janice Marie Guarneri (nee) Ragucci, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication.

Janice was born on October 22, 1974, in Newark, NJ. She grew up in Bloomfield, with her loving family, her mother Janet Alvarado, and her two sisters Christina and Toniann.  Janice was a graduate of Bloomfield High School's class of 1993. Her family shaped her compassionate nature and instilled in her the values of generosity and community.

Janice had an impressive career as the Co CEO of Friendly Folks, Inc., where she made a significant impact on both the company and the lives of those around her. Her dedication to her work was unmatched, and she brought joy to everyone she encountered. Janice was known for her ability to entertain children and keep them engaged with their activities. She had a natural talent for creating memorable experiences and making a difference in the lives of children.

Outside of work, Janice had many passions and interests that brought her happiness. She loved Broadway musicals, especially Wicked, listening to oldies music and had a deep appreciation for cars. Car shows were always a highlight for Janice. This was a special time for her and her husband of 25 years, Christopher. Together they marveled at the beauty and craftsmanship on display. Additionally, Janice had a creative side and enjoyed arts and crafts as a way to express herself. It was evident that her love for creativity extended into her work with children.

Janice's proudest accomplishments extended beyond her professional life. She dedicated herself to various meaningful roles within her community. As a Girl Scout leader, she mentored young girls and helped them develop valuable life skills. She also served as a CCD catechist at St. Christopher's Church, nurturing the spiritual growth of countless individuals.

Furthermore, Janice actively participated in the Brooklawn School Book Fair and Book Club, fostering a love for reading among students. Her involvement with the Parsippany school system PTA further demonstrated her commitment to education and the well-being of children.

Family and friends were an integral part of Janice's life. She is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart Christopher Guarneri, their daughters Madison and Alyssa, and her mother Janet Alvarado. Her siblings Christina Ragucci, Toniann Mendez and her husband Oscar, and step-mother Dianne DeValve also mourn her loss. Janice's extended family included many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish the memories they shared together.

Among her closest confidants was her best friend of 35 years, Melanie DeLeone-Hopping. Their enduring friendship was a source of strength and support throughout their lives. Janice's in-laws, Veronica Guarneri, Lori Guerra, and Lisa Mohr, were also an essential part of her life. Together with Scott Kotchman, a longtime friend, partner at Friendly Folks, Inc., and fellow Broadway enthusiast, they created countless cherished memories with Janice.

Janice was preceded in death by her father Ernest Ragucci, step father Oscar Alvarado, father-in-law Vito Guarneri, grandmother Genevieve Ragucci, and long time-friend John Saar.

Janice's vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others will continue to inspire us for years to come.
