Raphael F Gesumaria

August 22, 1927 — December 17, 2023

Raphael F Gesumaria, was born in her home in Newark, NJ, and continued to live there for 96 years. She was a caring and kind-hearted person who deeply loved her family. She passed away on December 17, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.

Raphael had a passion for the arts. She found solace and joy in theater and opera performances, immersing herself in the magic of storytelling and music. Frank Sinatra's melodies held a special place in her heart, providing comfort and inspiration throughout her life.

Known for her impeccable sense of style, Raphael always delighted in dressing up to go out to dinner. Her elegance and grace were admired by all who knew her. One of her favorite activities was visiting New York City to shop for unique garments that would reflect her vibrant personality.

In addition to her love for the arts, Raphael was an avid follower of cooking shows and the news. She valued staying up-to-date with current events and enjoyed experimenting with new recipes in her kitchen. Needlepoint brought her hours of relaxation and creativity as she carefully crafted beautiful pieces of art.

Among Raphael's proudest accomplishments was the opportunity to travel to Italy nine times. These trips allowed her to connect with her Italian heritage while exploring the rich history and cultural heritage of the country she held dear.

Raphael's parents, Angelo and Raffaella DelBuono, were vital figures in her life. Their guidance and support shaped her into the remarkable individual she became.

Raphael is survived by her beloved daughters Victoria Anne Dormer and son-in-law Frank Dormer, and Lisa Anne Gesumaria. The bond between mother and daughter was cherished by both, exemplifying an unbreakable connection rooted in unconditional love. They stood by her side through thick and thin. Their relationship transcended mere kinship; it embodied a deep understanding and unwavering support that words can scarcely describe.

Hope Dormer, granddaughter to Raphael, was a true source of joy and happiness. Raphael loved watching her grow, becoming a role model and sharing numerous wonderful memories.

Raphael's kindness and warmth extended beyond her immediate family. She had numerous cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Their bond was marked by love, laughter, and shared experiences.

As we bid farewell to Raphael F Gesumaria, let us remember the love and compassion she brought into the world. Her legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
