Obituary
On Monday March 20, 2023, Hanni Mueller passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85. Hanni immigrated to America from Germany in 1960 at the age of 22. Everything Hanni did in life was done with love and passion. She was a daredevil at heart, skiing off-trail throughout the Alps in her younger years, later crashing ocean waves, cruising in her Ford Maverick, and singing and dancing to "Free Willy" while babysitting, proudly adopting the nickname from her grandchildren "Crazy Omama". She was a lifelong soccer fan and most enjoyed singing "Nobody Does it Better" after each Cosmos victory and was an avid tennis fan, who especially loved watching her beloved Rafael Nadal, "Rafa"! Hannis passion extended to the arts, reading and reciting German poetry from Johann von Goethe, and listening to performers ranging from Andrea Bocelli to Neil Diamond. Hannis greatest joy came from the intense love of her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasures. Hanni is survived by her loving husband Walter; son Oliver Mueller and his wife Maria; daughter Nicole Mueller; grandchildren Carissa, Carly, Micaela, Karsten, and Kelsea; great-grandchildren, Adeline and Rory; sister Gretel Erban; cherished caregivers, Iveta, Kate, and Nora; many nieces and nephews here and in Germany she loved from afar. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hannis name may be made to Several Sources Shelters www.severalsources.org. Funeral Services for Hanni will be conducted on Sunday April 30, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church on 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ. A repast commemorating Hanni's life will be held immediately after mass at her son Oliver's home also in Kinnelon. Family, friends and acquaintances are all welcome to attend. Our heartfelt love are with Walter, Nicole, Oliver and their families as they grieve the loss of their beautiful and loving Hanni.Hanni and my mom, Lydia, had a special friendship... mom considered Hanni her best friend. They would get together for their cups of coffee (Tasse Kaffee) several times a week and enjoy long talks. I remember Hanni's warm and infectious smile with her kind and gentle spirit. She was truly an angel!!My heart smiles as I think of her and my mom continuing their abiding friendship in heaven.

Dearest Walter, <br>Ron and I were so sorry to hear about the passing of your beautiful wife, Hanni. Though we never had the privilege of meeting her, she had to have been an amazing woman to have had such a beautiful family. What a legacy of love she has left with all of us. May she rest in peace.
