Florence Ferraro

Florence Ferraro passed away on February 24, 2023 in Montville, NJ. She was born and raised in Newark and eventually moved to Bloomfield where she resided for many years. Florence graduated from Barringer High School in Newark and went on to a career at Westing House Corporation for forty years. Upon her retirement, she worked for First Fidelity Bank. More than anything, Florence was passionate about her family. For Florence, the simplest yet greatest pleasure was sitting around the dining room table with her brothers and sisters, perhaps for a Sunday meal or the occasional game of "May I". Even her home itself, with pictures adorning each wall and countertop, was an immaculate shrine to family past and present. Florence was also a devoted parishioner of Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart and served as President of the Rosary Altar Society, among other roles held with Sacred Heart throughout the years. Her devotion to God and the Catholic Church were unparalleled. There wasnt a priest or clergyman in all of Newark who didnt know Florences name. She is predeceased by: her parents Peter and Filomena (Megaro) Ferraro; her sisters Rose Ferraro and Theresa Armenti; and her brothers Frank, Robert, Patsy, Jerry, and Peter Ferraro. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews andother numerous family members and friends. Visitation will be on March 3, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m at the Halpin Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
