I've always loved this photo of Jeanne and Bruce from when he was the president at Nicholls State. They are walking up to the front of the yard at "Prez Rez" to make presentations to a group of Boy Scouts in celebration of the planting of a live oak tree on the property.

Dr. Murphy,
Please accept my and my family's deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved wife. My daughter works in IT there at the University and she developed a wonderful working relationship with and a great deal of affection for Jeanne, always bringing home such positive stories of their interactions. I came to feel that I knew Jeanne myself, to the point that when my daughter showed me the initial text about the accident, it was a shock. We are all so devastated and still quite incredulous at the loss of this dynamic and highly impactful woman. Our hearts grieve with and for you. Thank you for sharing her with us. All the best as you go forward.

To Dr. Murphy and the Picariello family,Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one, Jeanne. I admired many of the qualities Jeanne possessed. She was a trailblazer, a straight shooter, and a very down to Earth, passionate, and enthusiastic friend with a great sense of humor. May beautiful memories of Jeanne embrace you in comfort and warmth. My wish for Jeanne - a good journey filled with sweet pups and Olympic-sized swimming pools along the way. Godspeed.

Dear Bruce and Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. While I never crossed paths with Jeanne during my time in the Army, having met her in Alabama many years later and sharing our military experiences It was evident that she had a very special leadership quality that impacted so many lives across so many countries and cultures. An incredible human being. Virginia Hughes
