Alfredo Rivera

Alfredo S. Rivera “Freddy”, 72, of Bloomfield, died Monday at Nov 7, 2022 the VA Hospital in East Orange after a brief illness. Born in Puerto Rico, Fred resided in Newark before settling in Bloomfield over 40 years ago. Fred graduated from Central HS in Newark before enlisting in the US Air Force and serving during the Vietnam War. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Myrna Rivera. He leaves behind a son Michael, his wife Selene and a daughter Kristina, along with grandchildren Bryan, Alexandra, Isabella, and Christian, who meant the world to him. He also leaves behind a very large loving family and his dog Winter. Fred enjoyed being with family and friends. He was active in LZ Hope at the VA and loved going on fishing trips & parties with them. He loved music, dancing & making everyone around him laugh. He was truly the life of the party and will be missed dearly.
