Obituary
Lucy Foti entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022, surrounded by her family in her home in Bloomfield. Lucy was born and raised in Newark where she graduated from East Side High School. After marrying her high school sweetheart in 1961 and raising three children at her home in Bloomfield, Lucy worked for the Bloomfield Board of Education for twenty years. Lucy was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a selfless woman who dedicated her life to her family. She will be best remembered for hosting a packed house on Sundays for pasta dinner. Nothing made her happier than serving everyone she loved her delicious sauce and meatballs. Lucy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gene, her three children, Gene, Lori, and Gary, eight grandchildren, Anthony, Gabriella, Sophia, Olivia, Nicholas, Michael, Emily, and John, daughters-in-law, Filomena and Sharon, as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to the visitation at Halpin-Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home on Sunday, February 27th, from 2pm-6pm. The address is 1284 Broad Street in Bloomfield, NJ. Funeral services will take place at St. Thomas The Apostle Church in Bloomfield on Monday, February 28th at 9:30AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Lucy shared her delicious recipe with me for roasted peppers and pignoli nuts. It is a family favorite and will think of her every time we enjoy it. She also made a fantastic pistachio cake. Lots of love Cheryl DiMarco

My condolences to Gene Foti and family. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Lucy Foti, but knowing her son and grandchildren I know how much love was shared in their household. May she Rest In Peace knowing her traditions and genuine love will ever passed on through generations.
