Obituary

Deborah L. Walsifer (nee Spera) 66, entered into Eternal Life on Friday, December 24, 2021. Born in Newark to the late Paul and Dorothy Spera, Debbie worked as a Senior Administrative Assistant at Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals for over 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, watching the Mets, and most of all, spending time with her granddaughters. Debbie was a faithful parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church and an active member in many of its ministries. Debbie was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1994. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Chris Hartland, son Michael Jr., daughter Jennifer Walsifer, three granddaughters, Kayla, Mia and Sarah Hartland. She also leaves behind five siblings - Bernadette Lipoma and her husband Vincent, Lisa Helminski and her partner Juanita, Ronald Spera and his wife Jeanne, Leonard Spera, and Robin Spera, along with many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Friends and family are welcome to visit on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4-8pm. at Halpin Bitecola Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, in Bloomfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am, on Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue in Bloomfield. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations in Debbies memory can be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Thank you for playing games with me, doing arts and crafts with me, teaching me, constantly supporting me and so much more that I would not be able to fit into this message. Our most heartfelt deepest condolences to the Walsifer, Hartland and Lipoma Families.Debbie was the sweetest mom, sister and grandma to her girls. Always at the ready todrive and pick them up from school activities. She will be sorely missed.We had the best times each year at the backyard Luau. We thank the Lordthat she fought a good fight and finished her course. No more pain for her.Another angel received her wings and her crown of glory. Debbie looked absolutely beautiful tonight. She was as lovely as a princess.Such a special touch, having all her needlework displayed. She had a wonderful talent.God bless the complete family, as they move on. Memories and her legacy continue.It was my pleasure to know her.<br>Peace, comfort and love.
