Obituary
Antonina T. Zambri, fondly known by everyone as Lee, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 31, 1950, in Newark, NJ, Lee lived a life full of love and generosity.
Lee was a clerk for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. She also worked in the Essex County school system at Forest Glen School for a number of years while watching her children grow and thrive in their early years. She spent 54 glorious years married to Vito J. Zambri, the love of her life. Together they raised a family that brought her immense joy.
Lee is Predeceased by her husband Vito J. Zambri; and survived by her daughter, Alicia A. Zambri; her son, Vito P. Zambri; her sister, Kathy Monacelli (Leonardo); and her brothers Maurice Leonardo and Lonnie Leonardo.
Lee was a kind and generous soul who donated regularly to numerous charities including The Red Cross, The Wounded Warrior Project, and Paws for Purple Hearts, and helped out family members in need whenever and however she could. Although she always put family first, her interests included listening to Elvis, game shows, Star Wars, cooking, tackling crossword puzzles, and taking trips to Penn Hills and Atlantic City with her husband and familyactivities that brought her happiness and created lasting memories. Lees parents, Gus and Theresa Tortorete, and Frank and Carmella Leonardo, predeceased her, leaving behind a legacy of love that she carried with her throughout her life.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday May 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Halpin-Bitecola-Brookdale Funeral & Cremation Services located at 1284 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 60 Byrd Avenue in Bloomfield on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 9:30 AM. The interment will follow directly after the Mass on Friday May 30, 2025, at Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and/or the Alzheimer's Association.
