Obituary

Lucille Lackhan was born Lucille Rampersad in St. James, Trinidad on 27th May, 1941. She left this earth on 15th August 2020 (one day after her 60th wedding date). Daughter of David and Mary Rampersad Beloved sister to Julien, Virginia, Stephen, Kenneth, Alan, Theresa, Errol, Vernon, Norma and Christine Became a wife to Seewah Lackhan on 14th August, 1960 Blessed with four children: Susan, Sally Ann, Charlene, Naresh Loving mother-in-law to: Robert, Russell, Nakul and Nalini Proud grandmother of ten grandchildren: Sarah, Tabitha, Sylvan, Stephan, Moses, Nicholas, Raven, Brandon, Dylan and Ethan. Her life was further enriched as Nana to her four great grandchildren: Layla, Ari, Ryea, and Kai. Loved and respected by her grandsons-in-law: Devon and Adam Loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews in: Canada, England, Trinidad, and France She migrated to America in 1995. She worked very hard, thus achieving the rewards of buying a house and traveling extensively. Besides being a meticulous and diligent homemaker who loved to shop, cook and decorate her house, her career path reflects her being a Secretary, Assistant Store Manager and Home Health Aide at different periods of her life. Her deep belief in God never wavered throughout her life, even amidst her illness. Her day would always start with reading from her prayer books, praying for all her loved ones and children everywhere. Her family would always remember the countless self-sacrificing ways she showed her unconditional love to them throughout the years. They will treasure the many family gatherings where she would prepare curry mango, stew chicken, calloo, macaroni pie, sawine and numerous other dishes to ensure everyone was happy. Our matriarch has left us physically but she will always be in our hearts. Her journey on this earth has come to an end. We miss her terribly, the grief is unbearable but we will always treasure the memories she left us with. She was an angel in the shape of our mum. Rest in peace. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.2 Timothy 4:7 Well done, good and faithful servant! On behalf of the Reynolds and Morales family, we would like to bestow our heartfelt condolences to the Lackhan family. This is an exceedingly difficult time for your family as everyone has come together to celebrate the wonderful and loving memories and life of Lucille Lackhan.
Susan introduced her mother to our family through FaceTime video, and each time on video with our mother Elvira Reynolds, the room would always become a bubble of joy filled with love, excitement, and open arms. Amazingly, Susan would speak highly and powerfully of her mother, and we are pleased that Susan has chosen to share her mother's life and memories with us.
Lucille Lakhan, you will be missed.
On behalf of the Reynolds and Morales family, especially our mother Elvira Reynolds, thank you for your loving time on this earth. May your soul rest on in peace and may God be with your family.
Fr: Joyce, Mervin, GG, Jennifer, Paul, and Ryan, and our mother Elvira Reynolds.

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to everyone in the Lackhan family - to Naresh, Nalini, Dylan, Ethan, Nicholas, Brandon, Sebastian, Haley, Susan, Sally & Charlene. Aunty Lucy, you will certainly be missed. You had a spunk and enthusiasm for life. You loved your family fiercely, especially all of your Grandchildren. You were the greatest Grandma to all of your grand kids. My fondest memory of you is when we went over to Naresh & Nalini’s one day, there was music playing. Dylan, Levy, and myself all held your hands and started dancing with you. That was a fun time we shared and you were a good sport. Today, when I looked at the video, it was joyous to see you happy, smiling and dancing. You will keep on being happy, smiling and dancing in heaven. May God bless you Aunty Lucy and welcome you home.Neshaa & Family (Nalini’s sister)
