Sonja Marth

Sonja Marth, of Bloomfield, entered into eternal life on June 29, 2019. She was 89. Sonja emigrated from Germany in 1947. She settled in Newark, where she married her loving husband Fritz in 1964. The following year they moved to Bloomfield. Sonja worked as an accounting clerk for Sears for over 45 years. As an avid soccer fan, Sonja belonged to the Elizabeth Sports Club and the Hoboken FC. Sonja was predeceased by her husband Fritz in 2002. She leaves behind her two sons; Fritz Marth and his wife Bonniejean, and Bill Marth, and a granddaughter Amanda. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at St Johns Lutheran Church, 216 Liberty St., Bloomfield. Friends and family may visit in the Sanctuary from 10 am until the start of the service. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.
