Raymond Doherty

Raymond E. Doherty, 84, of Bloomfield, NJ, formerly of Glen Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Raymond is survived by his cherished wife of 61 years, Marcella D. (Koerner) Doherty, son Raymond, daughter and son-in-law Diana and Michael Donnelly, son Dennis, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Linda Doherty, nine grandchildren Matthew, Ryan, Christina, Jared, Lindsay, Jack, Ray, Brian, and Kaitlyn, two great grandchildren Michael and Charles, his brother and sister-in-law Martin and Mary Anne Doherty, his sister-in-law Cora Frolander, and many loving relatives and friends. Raymond was a loving husband and father and served as a strong role model for his family. He took any opportunity available to attend his childrens school and athletic events. He was an active member of his church, and passed on his Christian faith and values to his family. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War. Raymond worked for many decades in the insurance industry and was very proud of his service as a regional manager for Occidental Life. Funeral services will be private.
