In Loving Memory of Doreen Marie Benedetto It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen Marie Benedetto, Beloved Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, and Devout Catholic, who peacefully departed this world on January 17, at the age of 67. Doreen was born on September 13, in Newark, NJ, to her loving parents, Marie and the late Joseph Carlo. From the very beginning, she radiated warmth, kindness, and an unyielding spirit of determination. These qualities shaped her remarkable life and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Doreen devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, friends, and community. Her selfless passion for helping others, lead her on a lifelong journey of volunteerism, including working with Unico, Boy Scouts of American and St. Theresa Mission Outreach. She had an incredible ability to make people feel special and loved, whether through her thoughtful craft creations, her listening ear, her gentle encouragement, or her loving smile. Doreen worked for 26 Years at St. Michaels Medical Center in Newark, NJ, in Residency Education Management, fondly referred to as the Matriarch of St. Michaels. She was known to always carry herself with dignity, class, passion, and selflessness, becoming the bedrock of the Medical Education Family and helping to shape the careers of innumerable physicians. She is survived by her son Kevin, who was the light of her life, his wife Kimberly and her grandchildren Emma and Peter, who brought her immeasurable joy. She also leaves behind her dear mother Marie and her loving siblings Nancy Fucci and her husband Jack, Joanne Wasilewski, Angel Schack and her husband Gene, Joseph Carlo and his wife ChrysAnne. A favorite Aunt to 13 nieces and nephews, each of them will forever hold Doreens memory close to their hearts, honoring her legacy of compassion, resilience, and boundless love.
