Joan Popadaniec, of Bloomfield, passed away January 12th, at Mountainside Hospital. She was 82. Joan was born in Montclair, and has resided in Bloomfield since 1954. She retired from the Phone Company, and loved gardening, ceramics, and feeding the birds. Her greatest passion was breeding boxers, and she loved just being home spending time with her family. Joan was predeceased by her husband Tadhus J. Popadaniec in 1988. She leaves behind two daughters, Karen Fazel, Judy Popadaniec and her partner Judy Montalbano, and a son Thaddeus Popadaniec and his girlfriend Greer Garriton. Joan also leaves behind a grandson Kyle Fazel and his wife Angela. Joan also leaves behind her loving Black Lab Kole. Friends and family are asked to visit Halpin - Bitecola Brookdale Funeral and Cremation Service, 1284 Broad Street in Bloomfield NJ, on Thursday January 15th, from 5 to 7pm, with a funeral service to be held at 7:00pm following the visitation. Dear Karen, Teddy, and Judy, and families. We are very sorry for you loss. Aunt Joan was a wonderful and loving person. We enjoyed Christmas Eve at you house in bloomfield many times. Your mom was so very welcoming to me when I had first started dating Alan. We had many interests such as baking christmas cookies and birds. I still am the crazy bird lady. I remember the boxers very well. We are sorry not to come and say good bye to Aunt Joan but we live in Ma. and are sick right now. You are all in our prayers and thoughts. Love Ginny Alan, Amy & Eric their son Finn who just turned one year old on the tenth of January. Courtney. and Uncle Andy who turned 94 on January 12th.

I would like to give my deepest sympathy to the entire Popadaniec Family. Joan will be missed not only by me, but, by many others. It saddens me that I will no longer see her playing in her garden beds and sharing garden tips. Watching her enjoy feeding our friendly feathered neighborhood birds who provided hrs of entertainment. I will also miss seeing her with her very loving and protective black lab, Kole by her side. I will miss our talks over coffee and sharing some of my baked goods I'd bring to her from time to time. She was a wise and strong woman up until the very end. Joan, may you rest in peace and be reunited with your husband.
