Darlene Bassi

Darlene A. (nee Armando) Bassi of Bricktown (formerly of Bloomfield) passed away on Friday May 23, 2014 at the age of 70. She was born in Glen Ridge and had lived in Bloomfield before moving to Bricktown 33 years ago. Darlene was the greatest mom in the world who enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and was an avid Elvis fan. She was a bank teller with Wells Fargo Bank in Lakewood for 26 years, retiring 3 years ago. Mrs. Bassi is the mother of Christopher, Alexander and Drew Bassi; step-mother of Richie, Laurie & Lisa Bassi; beloved aunt of Kelley Wolek; sister of Richard Armando, Frank Armando Jr., Tisa Dragos and the late Marianne Russell. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Frank Halpin's Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, Bloomfield on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, 851 Valley Road, Montclair.
