Angelo Maggio

Angelo R. Maggio of Bloomfield passed away on Thursday November 14, 2013 with his loving family at his side at the age of 92. He was born in Pietra Pertosa, Italy and served in the Italian Army. He then settled in the United States moving to New York City in 1954 before moving to Bloomfield in 1968. Mr. Maggio and his late wife Elda owned Maggio Realty in Bloomfield for many years where he headed up the Real Estate Appraisal division of the company. He was also an Engineer with ABB Lummus of Bloomfield and Aman & Whitney of New York City prior to his retirement. He had worked on several projects such as the Lower Level of the George Washington Bridge, the Alaskan Pipe Line and the Back Stage of the Metropolitan Opera House Angelo was the beloved husband of the late Elda (nee Bravi) Maggio; devoted father of Agata Keith and Rita E. Maggio; dear brother of Aniello Maggio & his wife Elsa and the late Pompeo Maggio; and cherished grandson Eric Keith. Visitation will be at Frank Halpin's Brookdale Funeral Home1284 Broad St, Bloomfield on Monday, November 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday November 19th at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield at 10:00 am.
