Elizabeth Humphries, 87, of Bloomfield, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Born in Dover, New Hampshire, she lived in Kearny, NJ later moving to Bloomfield, NJ. Betty, a Registered Nurse, graduated from St. Michael's Hospital, Newark, NJ - 1946. She worked at St. Michael's Hospital and West Hudson Hospital in Kearny, NJ. After retirement, Betty volunteered for Hospice. Betty was pre-deceased by her husband Robert and her sisters Aileen Gorski and Kathleen Oehling. Betty is survived by her children - John Humphries and his wife Barbara, Robert Humphries and his wife Irma, Amy Hoffman and her husband James, and her sister Maureen Wright. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Phillip and Anthony Humphries, Lillian Hoffman, Emily Humphries, and Tatiana Humphries. Visitation at Frank Halpin's Brookdale Funeral Home, 1284 Broad Street, Bloomfield, form 4:000 to 8:00 pm. Funeral on Friday from the funeral home at 9:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue, Bloomfield at 10:00 am.
