Billy Edward Watson died of pancreatic cancer in Montclair, New Jersey on March 6, 2026 at the age of 72. Billy was born in San Bernardino, California on October 15, 1953. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force after serving for two years, earned an Associate’s Degree in Marketing, and worked in various sectors of sales, insurance, and fiberglass refinishing. In his leisure time, he wood-worked, painted, wrote fiction and poetry, and enjoyed listening to 70s hard rock.
With his passing, he is reunited in peace and love with his parents, Billy and Marylan Watson, and his sister, Wanda Jeanette Perdue. He is survived by his children, Tamara, Melissa, and Garrett Watson; his grandchildren, Evyn Irons, Jaycob and Jordyn Andrade, and Amani and Amelia Saada; his ex-wife and friend, Sandra Watson; his former long-time partner, Donna Cardosa; his brothers, Lloyd and Jeff Watson; his nephews, Thomas and Michael Watson; his niece, Jeanette Perdue; and many friends in East County, San Diego.
Billy will be remembered by his children for his unflinching loyalty to them, as well as his good-natured heart, unique creativity, remarkable ingenuity, enchanting storytelling, hilarious joke-telling, outrageous silliness, and out-of-the-box thinking. He truly beat to his own drum, and he will be missed.
