John Francis Lindgren Jr., age 81, of Belleville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. Born on June 21, 1944, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of John Francis Lindgren Sr. and Sara (Crump) Lindgren.
John dedicated his life to the automotive industry, proudly working as an autobody Painter. Known for his unwavering work ethic, he was a hard worker who took great pride in his craft. Beyond his professional skills, John was a gifted storyteller, often sharing his wisdom and advice with those around him. His love for gardening and woodworking brought joy to his days and beauty to his home.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Sue Lindgren; his son Stephen Schultz (Tami); his daughters, Dawn Pekar (Steven), Bonnie Johnson, and Tara Wilburne (Albert); and; his brothers William (Sue), Frank, and Raymond. John was also a devoted grandfather to ten grandchildren — John, Johnny (Andrea), Brittany (AJ), Zachary Joseph (Lexi), Zachary, James (Sherley), Andrew, Amanda, Alexis, and Jake — and great-grandfather to one precious great-grandchild, Abraham.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sara Lindgren, brother, Richard, and his grandson, Stevie.
His family and friends will remember John for his generosity, his stories, and his kind spirit, which left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
