Obituary
Isabel Werrell, affectionately known as "Busy Izzy" for her vibrant and active nature, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at the age of 91, in Montclair, NJ. Born on September 4, 1934, in Newark, NJ, Isabel's life was marked by her friendly and thoughtful spirit, which she shared generously with all who knew her.
Isabel's journey began as a cherished daughter to the late Pasquale and Isabel La Forge. She grew up surrounded by love and laughter alongside her siblings, all of whom predeceased her: Theresa D'Agostino, Lucille Gorto, Eleanor Calderone, Mildred Neividomski, Dominick La Forge, and Ralph La Forge. Isabel's family was a cornerstone of her life, and she carried the values of kinship and devotion into her own role as a mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Isabel was predeceased by her loving husband Patrick Werrell in 2003 and her son-in-law, Louis DeFalco in 2016.
Her life was enriched by the joy of her family. Isabel was a beloved mother to Michelle DeFalco and Patrick Werrell Jr., and Jodi Longo; a loving mother-in-law to Cordelia Werrell and Frank Longo. Isabel's legacy continued through her adored grandchildren - Louis Jr., Garrett, Vincent, Stephanie, Jason, Marissa, Braydon, and Dustin - and great-grandchildren, Zinnia, McCartney, and Vincent, who brought her immeasurable happiness.
Isabel's passion for life was evident in her hobbies. An animal lover at heart, she found joy in the company of pets and nature. Isabel also enjoyed drawing, painting, and sewing. Her home was a warm and welcoming place, where her friendly nature made everyone feel at home.
Known for being incredibly social, Isabel's presence was a bright light in her community. She had the gift of making lasting connections and cherished her friendships deeply. Her thoughtful nature meant she was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand, and her guidance was sought by many.
Isabel Werrell's life was a tapestry of familial bonds, and the countless lives she touched with her generous spirit. As we bid farewell to this wonderful woman, we celebrate the legacy of love and friendship she leaves behind. Isabel's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
