Kenneth Silverman

With heavy hearts, we announce that Kenneth Richard Silverman, age 68, passed away on April 25, 2026. He was in the company of loved ones until his last breath on Earth. Ken was born on January 23, 1958 in Paterson, NJ, son to late Florence J. Seik and Harold Silverman.

Ken lived most of his life in Northern New Jersey, other than an adventure of a couple years, alongside his young family to Orlando Florida, where alongside his former wife, and firstborn daughter, he welcomed his second child to the family. The little family of four enjoyed the warm, sunny Orlando weather, and even days spent in Disney World! Later, back in New Jersey, Ken and his former wife, Carol Palmer, welcomed two sons to the family, Kenneth Jr. and Bryan. Ken was a loving dad to his kids and will be remembered for playing cars on the floor, riding bikes together in the yard, hiking and camping with them, enjoying meals, movies and bowling together— to name a few cherished memories, though any time spent together was very cherished. Ken was an avid New York Mets fan, loyally rooting for his team amidst their highs and lows on the ball field, and was fascinated by the weather and especially loved tracking winter storms. He had a fun sense of humor, loved good food, strong coffee and singing to his children. He is remembered overall for his loving heart and care for his family, frequently checking in during his last days even when he was sick, he enjoyed expressing care and weather updates that correlated to each family member—no matter which corner of the world they were currently living in, or traveling in! We will deeply miss him and his zest for life.

Despite his health challenges in the last year of his life, he remained resilient and focused on relationships with family and friends. Ken found great joy in conversations with his children, visiting friends and time spent outdoors, noticing and tracking the weather.

Ken was also a proud and loving grandpa to his grandson, Owen. He adored talking with Owen, hearing about his day-to-day life and always looked forward to seeing him again.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Florence, and his sister, Diane. He is survived by his beloved four children-Jennifer, Amy, Kenneth Jr. and Bryan, his grandson, Owen; his sister Karen, and his former wife, Carol.

A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family to honor the memory and life of Ken Silverman. In lieu of flowers, gifts, or cards, those who wish to continue to honor his memory are invited to give to Direct Relief, a well-known and top charity that helps support those affected by the extreme weather and storms Ken loved to watch, and dreamt of chasing; as well as life saving medical care which would honor his memory as well, as he faced terminal illness at the end of his life.
