Lucio Ramos

Obituary
Lucio Drue Ramos was born on August 21, 2023, at 7 months, weighing 3 pounds and 15 ounces. He was diagnosed with HIE (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy), a brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain. Despite every obstacle he faced, Lucio impacted his parents and so many others in the most profound way by leading them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Through Lucio’s life, God revealed that He has a divine plan and purpose for each and every one of us. Although his earthly body limited him in many ways, the Lord used him mightily to further and strengthen His Kingdom. Lucio was the epitome of pure innocence. He never lied, never judged, and never treated anyone poorly.
Lucio inspired his parents to embrace life fully with him, regardless of the extra steps, time, and care it took to get from place to place. In his 2 years and 9 months here on earth, he went swimming, took road trips, visited fairs and parks, attended barbecues, and went to church almost every Sunday. He enjoyed strolls in the park with his mom and lunch dates with his dad. He treasured spending time with his grandparents and being cared for by his two aunts and grandma.
Lucio’s name translates to “light” and “warrior,” and we truly believe he lived out both of those qualities for God’s Kingdom. He introduced his parents to the world of healthcare, therapy, and ministry, showing them the beauty and power of people coming together to help heal others physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Through him, his parents met people they may never have known otherwise — people nearby and far away who treated him with kindness, who loved him, prayed for him, and rooted for him even without ever meeting him personally.
His parents believe the best way to honor Lucio’s life is by remaining strong in the faith, continuing to share the Gospel, and making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). They strive to love one another “as I have loved you” (John 13:34), while sharing the power of prayer and the hope found in Jesus Christ with families facing sickness and infirmity. Though our hearts ache deeply, we thank the Lord for the gift of Lucio’s life. We trust that God is faithful in all things and that one day we will see him again in the presence of our Savior.
“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.” — 2 Corinthians 4:17
